Job Position: Senior Executive – AD & Exchange (IT & ERP)

Job Description / Responsibility

  • Implements policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure Exchange server security through secure access, monitoring, control, and routine security evaluations.
  • Manages Exchange database(s), antivirus applications, messaging filtering, and error log tracking.
  • Recommends, schedules, and performs software patches, upgrades, and/or purchases.
  • Virtualization technologies: VMware VSphere or Hyper-V.
  • Develops, implements, documents, and maintains policies, procedures, and associated training plans for messaging system administration and appropriate use.
  • Configuration and management of DAGs and Exchange Clusters.
  • Creates and updated documentation and authors “How to” documents for other Systems Admins and end users.
  • Strong hands on with SCCM and take ownership for maintenance and troubleshooting of SCCM Infrastructure, Windows server environment & L2 support for SCCM related issues
  • Provides on-call technical support for end users.

The Canadian High Commission in Dhaka is looking for a dynamic and proactive Political/Economic Advisor.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Education:         
Master’s degree from a government recognized university.

Language:

  • Fluency in English: written and spoken (a test will be administered).
  • Fluency in Bangla: written and spoken.
  • Fluency in Chittagong/ Rohingya dialect:  must speak/understand fluently  (a test will be administered)

Experience:      

  • At least two years’ experience as a political and/or governance officer in any democratic institution, (i.e. government, the justice sector, etc.)
  • Experience in conducting research, drafting reports and providing advice to management.
  • Experience providing recommendations and analysis for senior management in any government/institution or  international organization;

* Recent experience is defined as normally acquired within the last three (3) years.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Rated Qualifications:

 

Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of the political, human rights and security affairs of Bangladesh;
  • Good understanding of the political, social, economic and international relations aspects of the Rohingya crisis, and a good grasp of its local, national and regional repercussions and policy implications;
  • Knowledge of influential governmental and civil society individuals and organizations in Bangladesh, including those who work on policy and project implementation related to the Rohingya presence in Bangladesh.

Abilities:

  • Ability to research, analyze and write high level reports on developments in Bangladesh and the region relating to Bangladesh government policy on the Rohingya, domestic attitudes toward the Rohingya, and related human rights and security issues;
  • Ability to plan and coordinate high level bilateral visits from Government of Canada representatives and senior officials related to the Rohingya presence in Bangladesh;
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and provide recommendations and analysis to senior management;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective communication networks and working relationships with Government of Bangladesh officials, academics and civil society;
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English (in writing and orally), Bangla and the Chittagong or Rohingya dialects;
  • Understanding/familiarity with the impact of the Rohingya influx on the political affairs and human rights situation in Bangladesh, and on Bangladesh relations with Myanmar and other countries in the region.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate workload.
  • Ability to communicate effectively

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Political/Economic Program Manager, the Advisor will be responsible for reporting on various domestic, regional and international issues related to the Rohingya presence in Bangladesh. This includes: relations between the Rohingya and Bangladeshi authorities, international organizations and host communities; the Rohingya impact on local and national politics; and the effect of the Rohingya situation on Bangladeshi relations with Myanmar, China, India and other countries. The Advisor will also report on the political aspects of security issues such as potential radicalization. The Advisor will organize and report on meetings and other events related to the above topics on behalf of the Canadian High Commission. The Advisor will travel between Dhaka, Cox’s Bazar and other locations within Bangladesh as needed to conduct their duties. The Advisor will maintain and grow a network of Rohingya-related contacts to facilitate their work and that of the High Commission.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the Visual ERP system.

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters in Economics/ Finance/ Statistics/ Supply Chain Management/ MBA from reputed universities, public universities preferred. Candidates having Professional Certificate on Supply Chain & Procurement will be additional advantage.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of purchasing, including the purchasing technical products/materials and commodity items;
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems, preferably Visual Business Systems;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint;
